As part of The Keith Roget Memorial Parks “ON AIR” weekend Tom and I drove east into Victoria and parked on a single car wide road which divides the Lower Glenelg N.P. and the Cobboboonee N.P. and set the switched 20/40 metre dipole (Tom’s) up with one leg in each Park. (basically across the road. Naughty boys).
We were thus able, sort of, to work both parks at the same time. (ahem?)
I worked the following stations from both parks and Tom would have worked the same calls.
V3YSP/p Joe and VK3FOWL Julie who were in the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
VK3AXH/p, VK3BHR, VK5DK, VK5FMID, VK5AV, VK5HD, VK5OI/p, VK5KAC, and VK5GJ.
I have a couple of other calls recorded but they are incomplete and I am not sure if they were valid or not. It was very hard trying to record qso’s of two operators working two parks at the same time. I will never attempt that again.
Thanks to all who called us and sorry to those who could not hear us.
In the end the B52 size mossies caused us to pack up and head home due to severe blood loss.
The weekend was a great success as far as the Keith Roget activations were concerned. We will be in it again next year.
