HACKS LAGOON CONSERVATION PARK. 6.04.2014

ImageHacks Lagoon C.P. is on the North Eastern corner of the Bool Lagoon Game Reserve. I tried to access it via a road that runs off to the right of The Bool Lagoon Rd. about 2 km before the official park entrance but it turned out to be private property. Not wishing to upset anyone I turned back and went in via the Bool Lagoon Game Reserve. Just inside the entrance to the reserve is a shelter / information shed. On the right hand side of this is a substantial steel box which has a drawer at the bottom which contains a special envelope. On the tear off flap on the envelope you fill out your vehicle registration number, the date and the fee payable. ($10 per vehicle.) I filled in the form, paid my $10 and after sticking the flap from the envelope on the windscreen as required, I entered the reserve. Turned to the right and followed the bitumen road around until I saw the Hacks Lagoon sign on my right. The Road bisects Bool Lagoon Game Reserve and the Hacks Lagoon C.P. I travelled a few hundred metres past the sign and found a large mown grass strip on the right hand side of the road where there was a convenient picnic table to operate from. I set up and got cracking. I managed 23 contacts from here including 10 park to park and 1 S.O.T.A. station.
