I am using the excellent Elecraft KX3 at present and generally run it at 5 watts.

My antenna of choice is A PAR Electronics 40 metre End Fed Halfwave. (100 watt version)

Heatshrink, cable tie and small split ring in centre of wire for use as an inverted “V” antenna suspension point.

Fishing snap hook on squid pole tip for hanging the centre of the antenna.

I am using the remains of used cable ties as the insulators for my HWEF ends.

Very light and good insulation properties.

Hi Grant. Thank you for the comment. I am still very happy with the KX3. I usually run it at 5 watts but can crank it up to 12 watts if needed. A great little radio.
